Puppet Show

Lexi went to her first real puppet show. It was the Tale of Peter Rabbit. I wasn't sure how she was going to do with the show, since she had to be quiet and sit still for 45 minutes but once the show began she didn't move at all and was mesmerized by the music and puppets.Sitting with a few friends before the show (Jadyn, Lexi, and Jade).Posing with Peter Rabbit after the show.

An Eggciting Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! Mass was beautiful at church. And to celebrate the wonderful holiday we had some great friends join us for brunch at the nearby Marri*tt.The bunny found our house and Lexi was very pleased about that. The silly bunny left eggs hiding all over our house. He brought me the perfect size chair to use at our summer concerts. And this BIG chocolate bunny that weighs almost as much as me!!!The only decent picture we were able to capture of Lexi in her church dress. After brunch, we went to the community park to blow bubbles.

More eggs and bunnies . . .

We went to one of our favorite, local markets and the Easter Bunny had made a visit so we searched for a few eggs and took some more pictures with the Easter Bunny. Some kids won't come within 5 feet of a dressed up character but not Alexis, she loves all Easter Bunnies!!!The Easter Bunny even showed up at "Kids Club" at the mall.Dancing and singing at "Kids Club".
Picking up eggsChecking out the goods that were in the eggs.Maybe bunnies are one of her favorite animals - she even loves the grass sculpted bunnies.

NICU Reunion

Today, we attended the 3rd Annual Sc*ttsdale He*lthcare NICU Reunion. The reunion is celebrated with an egg hunt for the kids. Lexi had a good time hanging by the Easter Bunny's side and hunting for eggs before the start of the hunt. It was a beautiful Spring day with a little bit of a breeze and a perfect opportunity for lots of photo ops.Kissing the "chocolate bunny". She has no idea, yet, that these kind of bunnies are for eating.Amanda and Lexi standing by the Easter Bunny. We had to check out what was in each egg before we put it in the basket. She had a basket full of eggs, stickers, and candy at the end!And one last picture with the Easter bunny!

Good bye

Lexi and I traveled to Iowa to say goodbye to my aunt Sharon. Aunt Sharon was just beginning her battle against breast cancer when she came down with a very unexpected illness that her body could no longer fight. She is now with "Wings" and watching over us all. Aunt Sharon was a strong woman with a great sense of humor and always added a little bit of wit to her stories. She will be very missed by our family and friends. I remember when I was little and stayed over at her house. Even though you hate to have it be under these type of circumstances - it was great to see family that I hadn't seen in quite awhile and reconnect with cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Lexi enjoyed getting to play with her cousins, Trevor and Trystin, while I attended the services. We stayed at Papa and Nana's house and Lexi had lots of fun getting spoiled and playing with the dogs and running in the yard. It's a good thing Papa Larry loves me because I flooded his laundry room on the last night we were there. Wonder if we will get another invitation to come back. Here are some of Lexi's adventures during the few days we spent at my dad's house.Nana chose the big yellow school bus to bring some excitement to grocery shopping. Lexi, of course, didn't mind!We went to feed the ducks crackers and the ducks were way overfeed (I guess some other people had the same idea) so Lexi decided to eat the crackers.Helping Papa Larry rake leaves and when he was done, "I got to ride in the wheelbarrow!"Petting the dogs - there was a lot of love from them!
