Alexis has officially doubled her weight. When we were at the doctor on Friday, she weighed in at 13 lbs. and 6 oz. We are really having a lot of fun with Alexis these days. Each day is filled with smiles, giggles, kisses, and lots of new discoveries for Alexis. She is interested in everything that mommy and daddy are doing and touching. She likes to help read the mail, type on the computer, and drink from our glasses. Over the last week we have been working on sitting up and playing with our toys. I am pretty sure Alexis would tell you it is sooo much better than lying down and playing.

Double the size, double the fun!
Fun times with Karen and Mark
Due to technical difficulties we have been delayed with our blogging. . .
Our neighbors & friends, Karen and Mark babysat for Alexis last Saturday afternoon and evening while we attended our friend's wedding. Alexis looked very comfortable in Karen's arms both when we left and when we returned. Uncle Mark admitted that he enjoyed practicing his baby talk with Alexis.

My First Bite
Last Saturday, Alexis had her first bite of cereal from the spoon. The nurse at the doctor's office suggested we try feeding her so that she would sleep better at night. It has yet to help her sleep better at night but she has conquered learning to eat from a spoon. I guess that is step 1 of learning to eat solids!

5 months old
For Lexi's 5 month birthday we took her to the mall to get her ears pierced. She totally knew something was up the moment we got in the chair. She even almost had tears before it began. The first few minutes after the piercing were the worst for her(as they are for everyone) and then 5 minutes later she was playing with her toys again and had forgotten all about it.
Singing, laughing, and making raspberry sounds
Ever since Alexis was 6 weeks old and we got our first smile we have been making raspberry sounds at her to make her smile and giggle. Well, last Friday I was eating lunch next to Alexis(who was sitting on the couch) and I hear this raspberry sound and sure enough there she was blowing bubbles and making raspberries. She was so happy and every time she would make a raspberry she would laugh at herself afterwards. This is what makes being a parent so much fun!
Lexi's Rolling
So just when my mom thought I was never going to roll over - "I did it"! And I did it when she was putting laundry into the washer and wasn't looking . Ha, ha I guess Lexi showed me, I had her on a blanket close to the edge of the carpet (because she wasn't rolling over so I didn't think it was a big deal) but when I came back from putting the laundry in the washer this is what I found. Thankfully, she didn't cry or hurt herself. From this day forward we have been putting her in the middle of her blanket in the middle of the room so she doesn't land on the tile again.
Storytime with my girlfriends
On Mondays Lexi goes to story time at the library. Here are a couple of her friends that she has made. Giavanna wanted to eat Lexi's shoe laces last Monday so we had a hard time getting her to look at the camera. The girls are much busier than they were 2 months ago when we took their picture together.
My Baptism Day
Alexis was baptized on January 27th. She was quite the VIP! We had a lot of visitors in from out of town. Thanks to everyone for making this day so special for her!
