4 month doctor visit

On Thursday, Alexis went to her 4 month pediatrician appointment. It was a good checkup with Dr. Z! She weighed in at 13 lbs. 3 oz and was 26 inches long. A tall, skinny baby with chubby cheeks that we LOVE to kiss. Lexi had to get 4 shots - 2 in each leg. She handled them much better than the 2 month shots. We will be posting pictures after Alexis is baptized on Sunday at our church. We have a busy weekend ahead of us with lots of visitors from out of town.

Lexi's First Slumber Party

On Saturday night, Lexi's friend Sophie came over while her parents went out for a few hours. The two of them together were quite the entertainment. Lexi (just like her mom) was the first one to fall asleep.

Laughing at Rick:

Alexis is fast asleep and Sophie is still playing:

A Day with Daddy

On Saturday afternoon, Alexis had a fun time hanging out with just her Daddy. This was the 2nd time they were alone together without Mommy. I was at a bridal shower for a girlfriend and had a great time socializing with some former co-workers. When I returned home Rick proudly stated, "Alexis never cried the whole time, I'm a good Dad!" I think the two of them had a good time playing and laughing together.

Here they are going for an afternoon walk:

Smiles for Daddy:

Brr. . .it's cold outside

It was rather cold here last week. Arizona cold, of course, 30 degrees for a night time low. Here Alexis is all bundled up for an early evening walk. We have Gramma Cindy to thank for the warm hat and mittens!

Weekly Update

Last week was kind of a busy week for Alexis. We went to Story time at the library for the first time and enjoyed learning some new songs and meeting other babies and moms. We also, went to a Music Together class for babies and played with the bells and drums. Probably the most exciting thing for Alexis was exploring the Exersaucer for the first time. She found it rather amusing that when she pulled on the butterfly it played music. We went to the park again and rode on the swings. Thank you Grandpa Larry and Nana Sandra for the high chair - Alexis loves just sitting in it and playing with her toys - wait till she learns that she gets to eat in it too!

Swinging in the Rain

Yesterday Alexis went to the park and sat in the baby swing for the first time. She was a little sleepy but I think she enjoyed it. We didn't stay very long because it started to rain so we will have to go back again on a sunny day!

Lexi's friend Amanda

On Friday, Alexis had a play date with Amanda. Amanda was born one day after Alexis and only lives around the block from us. It was the first time that Alexis noticed that another baby was using her toys and bouncy seat. Even though Alexis doesn't really care for her bouncy seat anymore she definitely noticed and gave Amanda a look like, "That is my chair". After the initial shock of another baby using her things - the girls had a wonderful time playing and talking to each other.

4 months old

Today Alexis is 4 months old. Here she is holding one of her dolls. We can hardly believe it, it seems like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital and wondering what do we do with her now. We don't ask ourselves that question anymore. She tells us what she wants to do. She is so much fun to be around and we enjoy every minute with her. She loves to give kisses; especially to her dolls and stuffed animals!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

On New Year's Eve we brought in the New Year with the New Yorkers and watched as the ball dropped at midnight in Times Square. We decided to do most of our celebrating on New Year's Day with our friends, Phil and Laurence and Laurence's family from France. It was a beautiful day here in Arizona and we enjoyed lots of wonderful food and champagne from France. We hope that 2008 brings lots of happiness and good health to everyone.

Here is Alexis with Michelle, Jean Luke, Laurence and Phil.
